ROB HUTCHINS

Rob started playing Pickleball in January 2020. He fell in love with the sport quickly, even without having any prior paddle experience. In his first tournament, only a few months after starting, he ended up winning a silver medal in 4.0 19+ Singles. He has been out on the courts nearly everyday since and has emerged as an advanced pickleball player in a short amount of time. His pickleball resume also includes a debut in the Pro division at the PPA Championships and capturing a 4.5 Singles Gold Medal at the Anaheim Classic.
Rob's fast development in this sport is contributed to the fact that he has been an athlete his entire life. He practically grew up in the gym. He played multiple sports (Basketball, Soccer, Football, and Track-and-Field) and was always looking to be active every day. Basketball was Rob's main sport throughout high school and ended with an award as Conference Player of the Year, a bid on the Lion's All Stars, and a 3rd place finish in the State. Afterwards, Rob went on to play Collegiate Basketball in Santa Barbara and overseas in Denmark and Finland.
JERRY SHANDREW
Co-Founder
Jerry first picked up a paddle on New Year's Day 2020 at the Santa Barbara Four Seasons Hotel. He hasn't put his paddle down since. Pickleball was not his first foray into paddle sports. He discovered tennis in his early 30s and quickly advanced to a 4.0 in the first year. For much of his life, Jerry has been a competitive athlete. He won his first medal at the age of 4 in swimming. He later went on to play collegiate water polo and earned a spot on the US National Team in open water swimming. Jerry is most proud of having completed a 24-hour adventure race consisting of mountain biking, trail runner, kayaking and repelling.

After graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, Jerry traveled Europe alone for the summer before beginning his career in the publicity department at Sony Pictures. With a solid background under his belt, he launched his own PR firm, Shandrew Public Relations, by the age of 26. His clients have included Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures TV, Showtime Networks, True Religion Jeans, as well as individuals such as Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski, actors Jackie Chan, Justin Hartley, Josh Hartnet, and Carmen Electra amongst many other notable talent.
